Background
With the rising popularity of parkour and freerunning since the early 2000s, Urban Campground serves a population of those seeking alternative forms of exhilaration.
Urban Campground is a speculative mobile app, which seeks to redefine the concept of nature––camping and hiking––in the urban landscape. Could large medians and portions of unused public space be used for camping? What legal codes and loopholes exist to enable a sense of community? What does the concept of stewardship look like in nature?
